As far as I’m concerned, I was a lazy student. Instead of using my time to study for exams I would speand it finding the latest and best ways to store the infomation in my head that I needed to score top marks. The few simple distinctions I found that made the greatest difference are at secretstudyskills right now!
Here are some basic tips below that may be of some help:
Discipline yourself - Often lack of discipline and time management are regarded the main culprits that stop you from reaching the top. Like it or not, passing all your exams is the only way you can realize your future goals in life. There are simple ways, however to become disciplined, if you are into study shortcuts. Some students might feel that sitting in one place and studying is not their cup of tea, try breaking your study material into small components. You may read for an hour early morning and again resume studies for a while once you are back from school. Try studying with a friend who can test you and guide you. Group study can produce 100x better grades. If you know how.
Pay attention to breathing – Your Physiology can make a massive difference to your exam performance. Students don’t know that state changes can make all the difference. Most people are unaware that deep, slow breathing from the stomach activates the theta waves in the brain that are known to improve memory. Additionally, deep breathing also ‘wakes up’ your brain cells by providing more oxygen.
Play brain games – Brain games such as Sudoku are very popular and such brain teasers can actually put your mind in the concentration mode.
Develop good eating habits – A diet rich in carbs and sugar can affect your concentration levels with the way it spikes and then crashes your blood sugar while skipping diets can make you feel light-headed. The best diet before a test is the one that is rich in essential nutrients and consumed in small quantities at regular intervals. Fish, milk, whole grains, and vegetables are great for both your mind and body.
